For over 26 years Advent has been providing a hot dinner to the homeless at Arlington Life Shelter

on the third Thursday of the month and a lunch for the next day. 

Over 60 churches and organizations provide a breakfast, a lunch and a hot dinner each day.

Each year volunteers gather to buy gifts and groceries and pack and deliver packages to sponsored families. Youth and children of Advent also make gifts for each child and our quilting group makes each a family a special quilt. Volunteer opportunities and opportunities to support fundraisers for this ministry are available each holiday season. 

The Prayer Shawl Team meets the first Wednesday of the month from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.  

We meet at Morada, 2500 Woodside Drive, in the 2nd Floor Meeting Room.

Each year fundraising efforts support the purchase of backpacks and school supplies to support the back-to-school program at Arlington Life Shelter. 

Everyone likes to make a difference, especially for someone in need and you can help to put in end to poverty, provide aid in emergencies, partner with communities to help build and grow rural economics, and break the cycle of poverty and communities.  Since 1945, after WWII, Lutheran World Relief mission has been to do just that!  The LWR Quilters meet every Wednesday morning from 9 am to Noon in Luther Hall, Room 103.  If you are interested in helping – and there are many ways to help – cutting, sewing, tying, or if you just want to come and visit, please join us.
